Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files that a website places in your browser and reads again on later visits. This lets the website recognise, for example, that you are logged in or which language you have chosen.

Browser storage (local storage and session storage) works in a similar way: it keeps information directly in your browser without sending it to our server with every page request. We use both sparingly and describe every entry on this page. How we process personal data in general is explained in the Privacy Policy.

At present our website only sets cookies that are essential for it to work. Without them you could not log in, and the website would not be protected against forged requests. These cookies do not require consent and cannot be switched off in the banner.

We also use browser storage: local storage holds your favourites, recently viewed games and a language hint, and session storage holds the reality check counter. These entries stay in your browser and serve only the features you use.

Analytics cookies would show us how visitors use the website, for example which pages are opened and how quickly they load. We do not currently set any analytics cookies or use any analytics service.

Should we introduce such cookies in future, they would only be set after you consent in the cookie banner. Before that, we would update this policy and list the name, provider and duration in the table.

Marketing cookies are used to measure advertising campaigns or to show relevant notices about an offer. We do not currently set any marketing cookies, and we do not create advertising profiles.

Marketing cookies, too, would only be set with your explicit consent in the cookie banner. You receive information about promotions by e-mail only if you have chosen this in your account; no cookies are needed for that.

Our website does not currently set any third-party cookies, such as those of advertising networks or social media. Our contact form and its spam protection also work without third-party services.

If you open a game from a game provider or start a payment with a payment service provider, that provider may use technically necessary storage for its own interface. The provider’s own terms apply to this. Should we use non-essential third-party cookies on our website, they would only be set after your consent.

How long a cookie stays in your browser depends on its purpose:

• adm_session is deleted as soon as you close the browser.
• lang is kept for 1 year so that the website greets you in your language.
• age_ok is kept for 1 year after a «Yes»; after a «No» only until you close the browser.
• cookie_consent is kept for 180 days. After that, we ask for your choice again.

Local storage entries remain until you delete them in your browser. Session storage is cleared when you close the tab or the browser. You can delete cookies and browser storage at any time in your browser settings; you will then need to log in again and make your choice again.

On your first visit the website shows you a cookie banner. There you choose «Accept All», «Reject All» or, via «Settings», individual categories. Essential cookies are always active; analytics and marketing cookies are switched off by default.

You can change your choice at any time: the «Settings» button in the banner or the «Cookie settings» link in the footer of every page reopens the selection. You can also block cookies in your browser; without essential cookies, however, login and your account will not work.

You can withdraw any consent you have given at any time, without giving reasons and without any disadvantage to your account. To do so, open the selection via «Cookie settings» in the footer, switch off the relevant categories and save.

Withdrawal takes effect immediately: from that moment, no cookies of the deselected categories are set. The lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal is not affected. As we currently use only essential cookies anyway, a withdrawal does not change how the website works today.
